Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu is an institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The college was established in 2000. According to the management, the college seems to a centre of excellence. But in reality, the college is not worth the hype that it makes up. The major hitch of the organization is the poor performing faculties, low quality lab facilities and unsatisfactory placement activities.

The performance of the faculty of the college is not at all satisfactory. Some of them do not even have the required qualifications. They do not motivate us in any way and does not help us in getting a quality education. Except very few faculties, other have the mentality that they will only complete the portions and that’s it. Inspiring the students or helping the weaker students, giving quality education, teaching values, helping in placements etc does not seem to bother them.

Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology also don’t have proper lab facilities for the students. In the few labs that are there in the institution, many equipment and facilities necessary for proper learning are not present. The labs seem to be only made to give a name that there are labs in the organisation and not really for the well-being of the students of the college.

The placement opportunities offered by the college is also average. Not many companies come to Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology for placement activities and even among the companies that come, majority are not core companies. Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology promised 100% placement assistance when we took admission. But only the smartest and luckiest students get placed in this college. Not even the average or above average students get placement sometimes because of the very few numbers of companies that comes for placement activities at the college.
